Trek unveils new Madone 2019 SL and SLR

Trek has released the latest generation of its ground-breaking aerodynamic race bike, Madone. Renowned for its ability to balance aerodynamics with ride quality, Madone has been updated with key technologies that enhance the bike’s core benefits for riders.

In addition to all-new features that amplify what sets Madone apart, Trek has widened the bike’s appeal and potential applications by offering the new bike in rim and disc brake options. The new Madone is available for purchase now.

Ultimate Race Bike

The Madone has been proven as one of the fastest aero super bikes on the planet but what really sets Madone apart is how it combines advanced aerodynamics, weight savings and superior ride quality into the best race bike available today.

Madone is revered for its overall balanced and amazing ride feel. Most aero bikes can feel harsh and overly stiff, sacrificing ride quality for aerodynamic profile. Madone delivers on the promise of the ultimate race bike with full aero speed that can take on cobblestones, climbs and descents.

Adjustable top tube IsoSpeed

The benefit of IsoSpeed is that it not only smooths out the road for a sublime ride, it diminishes the fatiguing impacts of the road, allowing the rider to remain fresher longer.Adjustable IsoSpeed was first released on the seat tube of Trek’s Domane line, a feature that has been met with wide praise since its release.

Top tube IsoSpeed on the Madone SLR is adjustable to customise the compliance to rider preference and terrain. The new Madone is up to 17% more compliant over its predecessor when set to the most compliant setting.

Top Tube IsoSpeed is damped to rebound in a smooth and controlled motion, providing the rider more stability.Rebound is reduced by 13% on the new Madone SLR over the current Madone

Another benefit of this new technology is the ability to closely match vertical compliance values across all frame sizes since the top tube seat mast is of similar length. No matter what size bike you ride, you will benefit fully from IsoSpeed compliance.

Unprecedented integration

Every element of Madone serves the ultimate goal of unprecedented integration to enhance performance, making Madone the fastest, most advanced option on the road.

Rim and disc brake options

Madone SLR comes with both disc and direct rim brake options. Both brake technologies are fully integrated into the frame’s overall design. The rim brake version is lighter with the brakes moulded into the frame’s design and hidden from the wind.

The disc brake version provides undeniable stopping power without any penalty to the bike’s aerodynamic profile—powerful braking without any sacrifice. It can also fit a 28mm tyre, whilst the rim brakes version can only fit up to 25mm tyres.

The disc brake frames have larger tyre clearance, ample room to fit wider tyres up to 28mm.

New Two-Piece Aero Bar Stem

Madone SLR provides riders more stem options and additional bar sizes and +/-5 degrees of bar rotation. With this new fit update, Trek offers one of the broadest spectrums of possible race fits for men and women with an integrated aero cockpit.

Optimal Fit and Geometry

Developed in partnership with the Trek-Segafredo and Trek-Drops professional cycling teams, Madone SLR features a new H1.5 geometry that puts the rider in the optimal aero race position. H1.5 hits the sweet spot for a wide range of racers as it balances a traditional aggressive race geometry with a position that more athletes can hold longer with more comfort. Madone SL feature proven H2 Geometry.

Men’s and Women’s Models

Madone SLR comes in both men’s and women’s-specific models. Both feature the same best-in-class frame platform. Women-specific touchpoints like saddle, handlebar width and stem length that are spec’d to fit most women better from the start.
