Continuing its collaboration with the Singapore Cycling Federation, Team BikeExchange Jayco is pleased to confirm the contract renewal of 32-year-old Chelsie Tan for the 2023 season.
Tan, the first Singaporean rider to sign with a WorldTour team, made the step up to the UCI international women’s peloton in January 2022 with the Australian outfit, and quickly
settled into the team environment, bringing great enthusiasm and her optimistic personality.
Having only started cycling in 2018 and prior to joining the team, raced only in Asia, it was a huge and exciting challenge for Tan to jump into the European peloton and she took it in her stride, progressing and learning in every race that she took to the start line.
With a full season of international WorldTour races under her belt, Team BikeExchange Jayco is excited to see what Tan can achieve in her second season with the squad and believe she still has a lot of potential to unleash as she continues with her upward
trajectory.
Brent Copeland – General Manager, Team BikeExchange-Jayco
“It is a great pleasure for us to confirm the re-signing of Chelsie for the next season. Continuing our partnership with the Singapore Cycling Federation, developing riders like Chelsie, assisting them to make the transition into the WorldTour is very important and satisfying for us as an organisation. The pathway we have created should inspire many other riders and give them the belief that stepping into the WorldTour is possible, and Chelsie has certainly proven that this season.
Chelsie is clearly talented and this year she has overcome so many different challenges. She has been racing out of her comfort zone all season and with this, shown great resilience and incredible motivation. We are all very excited to see what she can achieve in the coming years, now that she has had an initial introduction into a WorldTour team and the international women’s peloton, which is developing at a rapid rate each year.”

“I am overjoyed to be staying with Team BikeExchange-Jayco for the 2023 season. The support, coaching and guidance have really helped me in my first year as a WorldTour pro.
It has not been an easy year, in fact the racing is tougher than I could have imagined, but I believe I have the best equipment with Liv, and the best training and encouragement from the staff, management and the girls.
Although my fitness has improved in 2022, the greatest learning has been in the peloton, all the girls are fast and tough! In 2023 I am looking to improve my position in the peloton, and work hard as a support role for the team.
Coming from Singapore it has been fantastic to travel to different parts of Europe to race. Again, the organisation and care from the team is amazing, I can’t wait for the first training camp of the 2023 season!”
Dr Hing Siong Chen, President, Singapore Cycling Federation
“On behalf of the Singapore Cycling Federation, we are very proud of Chelsie in gaining a 2023 contract achieved through hard work and dedication. We are also very appreciative of the support that Chelsie has received from the Team BikeExchange-Jayco Management, Staff and Teammates.”
