After much deliberation and consideration, it is with a heavy heart that SCF has to come to a difficult but necessary decision to postpone all other upcoming National Championship races to the end of the year, between Oct and Dec 2021.
For MTB/ DH
NParks has not given us the approval for the MTB DH and Cross Country Time Trial race in Kent Ridge due to the Phase 2( Heightened Alert) restrictions. We are still in talks with NParks but approval will likely only come after Phase 2 ( Heightened Alert) and the dates will be set as soon as the approvals are confirmed.
For TTT
The race can only be planned when the Phase 2 (Heightened Alert) is lifted. With the current restrictions of 100 participants during an Event in Phase 2 ( Heightened Alert) our TTT event will not accommodate enough teams or categories to make the race competitive. We are awaiting the lifting of Phase 2 ( Heightened Alert) measure and a return to the 250 participants limit to set a date for the TTT.
For these reasons, the OCBC Cycle National Championship Events will be postponed until such time approvals with the approving regulators are confirmed.
We will continue to keep the cycling community updated of any developments as soon as they are available. If you have any other questions / concerns regarding OCBC Cycle National Championships, do feel free to email us and let us know.
Yours Sincerely,
SCF Management Committee
