Cycling Without Age Singapore (CWAS), a registered charity which runs programmes to engage and empower the seniors of Singapore to live out their best years, has teamed up with Dr William Wan, General Secretary of the Singapore Kindness Movement, to raise funds through a cycling event called ‘The Wan Challenge’ to support CWAS’ work in enabling seniors to engage, empower, enrich and enhance their well-being, and lead a purposeful life.

On 19 October at PassionWave @ Marina Bay, Dr Wan, who turned 75 years old in June this year, will be joined by 5 senior friends in an attempt to raise $175,000. They will be taking 75 CWAS beneficiaries on this journey to enjoy the outdoors and involving them in this meaningful effort. The funds raised will allow CWAS to engage 750 new beneficiaries and train 100 new volunteers to continue the good work we do through targeted programmes.
‘I believe in the good work CWAS is doing, getting the seniors out to live an active life and let them feel that they are cared for.’ Dr William believes in the good work CWAS is doing to engage our seniors, and he wants to play a part by leading the Wan Challenge to raise funds.

“We are honoured to have Dr Wan’s support to raise funds for our cause. With many seniors facing issues of social isolation, the CWAS team wants to continue to do good and to deliver beyond the Trishaw Ride Service but also other services (such as the Virtual Reality Ride service and an upcoming pilot with the Telepresence Robot Service) for the senior community,” said Jerome Yuen, CEO of CWAS.
Our donation portal is open, and donations can be made via https://www.giving.sg/cycling-without-age-singapore/Cycle_for_Good_2022_-_The_Wan_Challenge starting now till the end of the year (2022).
About the Wan Challenge

The Wan Challenge is part of our annual fundraiser, ‘Cycle For Good’, organised by Cycling Without Age Singapore. We have teamed up with Dr William Wan this year to raise funds through the one and only cycling event, ‘The Wan Challenge’. This challenge brings together Dr Wan & 5 of his senior friends to join hands to support the work Cycling Without Age Singapore is doing, which enables seniors to engage, empower, enrich and enhance their well-being and lead a purposeful life. The funds raised will allow CWAS to engage 750 new beneficiaries and train 100 new volunteers to continue our good work of engaging seniors who are socially isolated through our programmes.
About Cycling Without Age Singapore (CWAS)
Cycling Without Age Singapore is a registered charity with IPC Status, and it started as a representative of the global movement for Cycling Without Age in Denmark. Our growing organisation of volunteers and social service partners work together to give seniors the experience of trishaw rides and virtual reality rides to feel connected with the community. Our vision is to inspire hope and create a positive impact on seniors’ lives. Our mission is to empower and engage seniors to enhance their well-being and lead a purposeful life.

We work to achieve this by:
● Engaging seniors by providing a platform through a set of services to connect
● Empowering seniors by giving them the opportunities to help others
● Enhancing seniors’ well-being through the development of interests/hobbies
● Enriching the seniors’ lives with a pursuit of an interest at a higher level
Since its inception, we have been able to provide more than 10,000 trishaw rides to the senior community of Singapore.
