In these trying times, we have all had a small taste of how daunting isolation can feel. It is important to reach out to those who may be hit especially hard by the pandemic and the isolation that comes with it. While you may be trying to stay afloat yourself, there are ways in which you can do your part to help those who may be having a harder time coping, whether due to age or circumstances.
Cycle for Good aims to bring together individuals, families and friends to cycle and raise awareness on the importance of combating social isolation. And in doing so, building a more inclusive community for those who need it the most, such as seniors and PWDs, while raising funds to support Cycling Without Age (CWA) Singapore.
Cycle for Good makes use of Singapore’s beloved trishaws to allow youth pilots to connect with seniors and those living with disabilities. They give rides to those who are differently abled, presenting them with the opportunity to foster bonds and feel more connected to the community. To cope with the pandemic restrictions, Cycle for Good now gives virtual trishaw rides to our seniors.
How can you do your part? All you need to do is gather your friends and register your team. You can choose to select your own distance to cycle and encourage friends and family to support you by donating to Cycling Without Age (CWA). What better time than now to go outside and get moving for a good cause?
